Glyn began training in the Martial Arts as a
youngster in the mid seventies under the
tutelage of his father Roy Jones, in the Arts of
Japanese Judo & Ju Jutsu.  A series of
fortunate local meetings and events also
allowed Glyn to be accepted as one of the few
students of the veteran Bill Bowen.

Glyn began training in Karate in 1981 under the
well renowned and no nonsense Karate teacher
Sensei Cyril Cummins of The Japan Karate
Association, going on to achieve his Shodan in
Karate in 1988.

Relocation gave Glyn the opportunity to explore
and experience a vast variety of Karate Dojos,
Styles and Teachers in the U.K.

One of his most influential early teachers over a
number of years was Slater Williams Sensei a
Senior Student of Taiji Kase Sensei.  Williams
Sensei is a Karate teacher that Glyn regularly
speaks of as a formidable exponent of Karate. It
was this training that first presented elements of
Okinawan Ti to Glyns attention, together with an
un bias towards Karate Styles, for a number of
years training in both the Shotokan & Goju Ryu
styles of Karate.
Glyn has travelled extensively in search of quality training methods and
being the author to many published articles in martial arts
magazines. Of which during 2006 he was featured on the cover of the
UK's Traditional Karate Magazine.
Thus achieving both his 4th and 5th Dan Karate Certifications from the
Dai Nippon Butoku Kai Honbu Dojo in Kyoto, Japan. Together with
receiving his 5th Dan at the  Honbu Dojo of the Ryusyokai  in
Tomigusuku, Okinawa, directly from his teacher Shigetoshi Senaha
Sensei 9th Dan, then his 6th Dan in 2011. Together with the titles of
Renshi & Shibu Cho.

To date Glyn presently continues to practise, study, research and teach Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate,
Okinawan Karate, Kobu Jutsu, and elements of Ti by the Teachings of his Sensei, as in  Shigetoshi
Senaha Sensei 9th Dan Hanshi, the former Dojo Sempai of Meitoku Yagi Sensei. Together with
guidance from other senior Okinawan teachers as in Kyoshi Hidenobu Tamaki 8th Dan.
Glyn trained for over a decade as a close student of Sensei Brian
Hinchliffe of the Ho Ei Juku in the Art of Goju Ryu Karate. Sensei
Hinchliffe being a long time student of Heiji Tada Sensei of the
Seishikan Dojo in Fushimi, Kyoto, Japan.
